Grow In Instructions
Let mulch dry for 24 hours after application so the glue can adhere to the soil properly.
After the first 24 hours your lawn MUST be kept moist. For the first 7-10 days, water the seeded
areas 3-5 times per day. Do not allow water to puddle.
After this 10 day period, you must continue to water once or twice a day because the seeds will
continue to germinate.
Even when the lawn is established, it is still important to keep a consistent watering schedule
based on the current weather conditions.
Generally 4 weeks after hydro seeding, your lawn should be fertilized. We recommend using a 10-10-10
or starter fertilizer, making sure that the Nitrogen levels are not too high. Fertilizing will help to fill in any
sparse areas you may have.
It is normal for weed seeds that were in the soil prior to hydro-seeding to terminate and grow faster than
the new grass. As soon as any weeds are 3" tall, begin mowing them. Doing this will stunt the growth of
weeds and allow your new lawn to over take the weeds. Use a grass catcher to eliminate the possibility
of prevent spreading the weed seeds
DO NOT USE ANY WEED CONTROL PRODUCTS FOR THE FIRST 90 DAYS
Your new lawn will be ready to be mowed between 4-6 weeks after application. When over 50% of the
lawn reaches a height of 3"-3.5", use a sharp bladed mower set at about 2.5 in cutting height. Be sure
not to cut more than 1/3 of the grass blade off at each mowing.
Bare areas are usually caused from the seed drying out too much or being flooded and washed away.
These areas will need to be reseeded to promote growth.
TCHS will be more than happy to assist you in the grow in process. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please bring it to our attention.
